SINGAPORE - Boy band One Direction were formed in 2010 during an episode of British reality show The X Factor, because judge and media mogul Simon Cowell did not think they were strong enough to be solo artists.
They went on to become the biggest boy band in the world. They had megahits such as What Makes You Beautiful and Story Of My Life, won nearly 200 awards and performed around the world from Argentina to the United States.
