Master of suspense M. Night Shyamalan still has to prove himself to Hollywood

NEW YORK - Twenty years after his supernatural sleeper hit The Sixth Sense set a new bar for twist endings, M. Night Shyamalan is, by most standards, a successful filmmaker.

Yet as he unveils his latest movie, Glass - a sequel that ties together his critically acclaimed superhero story Unbreakable (2000) and his psychological thriller Split (2016) - the director still has to prove himself to Hollywood, he tells The Straits Times in a one-on-one chat in New York in November to promote the film.
