Drama-comedy Kisah Tok Kadi bags four awards at Pesta Perdana

SINGAPORE - Heartwarming drama-comedy Kisah Tok Kadi emerged the big winner of the 14th Pesta Perdana on Friday night (March 31), bagging four awards, including Most Popular Programme.

The show's cast picked up the other three awards. Malaysian actor Beto Kusyairy won Best Actor In A Leading Role (Drama Series); actress Fazlyna Aziz won Most Promising Actor/Actress; and supporting actor Sufian Ahmad defeated hot favourite Jeff Catz in the Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Drama Series) category.

The ceremony, celebrating the best of the local Malay television industry, was broadcast from the MES Theatre at Mediacorp.
Best Drama Series went to Aduh Bibikku, while Hari Raya telemovie Anak Bulan won for Best Drama Special.

Double winners of the night were versatile actor Izzat Yusoff and established actress Mastura Ahmad.

Izzat won Best Actor In A Leading Role (Drama Special/Anthology) for his role in Dua Wajah and Best Actor In A Supporting Role (Drama Special/Anthology) in Dimensi ke-4 Season 3.

Mastura won Best Actor/Actress In A Comedy Role for her role in Anak Bulan and also Best Actress In A Supporting Role (Drama Series) for Interns Season 1.

First-time winners were veteran actress Norsiah Ramly (Best Actress In A Supporting Role (Drama Special/Anthology), and child actor Freda Mel (Best Young Star).

A special award, Anugerah Perdana Emas (Lifetime Achievement Award), was presented to singer Rahimah Rahim, 61, an accomplished performer who has been in the local entertainment scene for more than five decades.
