English actor Isaac Hempstead Wright got an early birthday celebration at his fan meet this afternoon.

The crowd of fans who turned up at Ion Orchard's Basement 4 Atrium gave him a warm welcome and sang Happy Birthday to the Game Of Thrones actor, who turns 17 on April 9.

This is his first time in Singapore and 40 lucky fans had an opportunity to meet Wright, take photos and get his autograph.

Wright also gamely went around to take wefies with the eager crowd.

His fan meet is part of HBO Asia's The Game Of Thrones Experience: World Of Westeros event to promote Season 6 of the hit television series. Season 6 premieres on HBO (StarHub TV Channel 601) on April 25 at 9am, the same time as the United States.

Talking about the new season without revealing any spoilers, Wright says: "Bran is still mastering his 'warg-ing' talent. He's not quite there yet but he's getting to grips with his magical powers." In the show, wargs are people who can enter the minds of animals and control their actions.

The free interactive event at Ion Orchard is on until April 7. It features a life-sized replica of the iconic Iron Throne, as well as a showcase of weapons from the show.

Another highlight is the 90-second Game Of Thrones: Ascend The Wall virtual reality experience, that takes users to the top of the 700-foot ice wall in Westeros.

Civil servant Marc Lee, 30, one of the fans who met Wright, says: "The other actors are not here so meeting Bran is the next best thing. From watching him when he was a kid, he's all grown up. He's pretty cool, down-to-earth and warm."
