Wes Anderson took over a French town for comedy The French Dispatch

NEW YORK - The French Dispatch, the new comedy by eccentric director Wes Anderson, is inspired by his experiences as an American expatriate in France.

Opening in Singapore cinemas on Dec 9, the movie is also a tribute to two of the film-maker's obsessions, he says: French cinema and the bygone era of journalism once practised at the influential The New Yorker magazine.
