Immigration counter shouldn't be just for able-bodied S'poreans

As a wheelchair user, I was wheeled to clear immigration not through the counter for Singaporeans but through the counter meant for non-Singaporeans late last year while returning from a trip abroad.

I was disappointed at having to wait in line at this counter as the rest of my family whizzed through immigration.

I was later told that the counter for Singaporeans was too narrow to accommodate wheelchair users, and this was despite me being on one of those small wheelchairs used by airlines.

I hope those in charge of renovating Terminal 1 will make the return immigration channel for Singaporeans wide enough for wheelchair users.

This channel should be for all returning Singaporeans, both able and disabled.
