The Auditor-General Office's (AGO) report should serve as a loud alarm bell to our Prime Minister and all ministers on the issues plaguing the civil service ("Auditor-General flags conflicts of interest"; July 16).

It is fortunate that we have the AGO as a watchdog for government agencies, to preserve our hard-earned corruption-free international reputation.

I hope the Government will not only address the flaws highlighted by the Auditor-General, but also identify and solve the root cause of these flaws.
