Four youths arrested for series of bicycle thefts

Four youths aged between 19 and 21 have been arrested for a series of bicycle thefts in the housing estates around Pasir Ris, Simei and Sengkang.

A 41-year-old victim had spotted two of the suspects pushing away his bicycle at about 11.30pm on Tuesday and managed to detain them.

The police responded quickly and after intensive follow-up, identified the other two accomplices and arrested them.

Six bicycles, believed to be stolen, were seized by the police. Police investigation is ongoing. If convicted, the youths may be fined or imprisoned for up to three years, or both.
