Singapore shares open higher on Wednesday

Singapore shares opened higher on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index at 3,203.17 in early trade, up 0.22 per cent, or 7.10 points.

Around 259.3 million shares exchanged hands.

Gainers beat losers 93 to 58.
