S'pore to hit target of planting one million more trees in 2027, three years ahead of schedule

The National Parks Board (NParks) commemorates 60 years since founding Prime Minister Mr Lee Kuan Yew kickstarted Singapore’s nationwide greening campaign. To commemorate
the occasion, 60 trees will be planted on 15 April 2023 by residents from the five Community Development Councils (CDCs), among other partners.

The event will be hosted by Mr Desmond Lee, Minister for National Development and Minister-in-Charge of Social Services Integration, who will be delivering opening remarks as well as share on the progress of the OneMillionTrees movement. Representatives from the five Community Development Council Districts will also be attending the event.

The National Heritage Board (NHB) launching Love, Kebaya, a new travelling exhibition which showcases kebaya and the community stories behind them. The exhibition will explore kebaya as a form of intangible cultural heritage (ICH), which has been submitted as a multinational nomination to the UNESCO Representative List of the ICH of Humanity.
The exhibition builds on NHB’s efforts to actively engage and involve the community in all stages of the nomination process, and feature community contributed items, including six kebaya created by kebaya craftspersons and practitioners, and photographs.
