SINGAPORE - As Singapore gears up for a historic National Day on Sunday, the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) has released a special video to wish the Republic a happy 50th birthday.

The 60-second clip to mark Singapore's Golden Jubilee features some of the game's biggest names including Canadian star Eugenie Bouchard, world No. 3 Simona Halep, former world No. 1s Ana Ivanovic and Caroline Wozniacki and retired legend Martina Navratilova, who is also the WTA Finals ambassador.

Into its second year, the BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore will be held at the Singapore Indoor Stadium from Oct 23-Nov 1.

The prestigious US$7 million (SS$9.64 million) season-finale, presented by SC Global, will include an expanded eight days of competition while events like the WTA Legends Classic, WTA Rising Stars Invitational and WTA Future Stars Finals competitions will continue to be held alongside the main event.

Last year's main edition was captured by world No. 1 Serena Williams, who heads into next month's US Open chasing a calendar Grand Slam.

Tickets for the general public will start at $16.90 and can be purchased through Sports Hub Tix. Visit www.wtafinals.com for more information
