He is one of Singapore's most well-known cartoonists and now participants of the upcoming OCBC Cycle can secure an item with Lee Chee Chew's signature drawings.

Sign up for the inaugural 23km The Straits Times Ride at the Aug 29-30 event and the specially designed T-shirt worth $49 is yours.

The T-shirt is from the brand Pearl Izumi, which is well-known among the cycling fraternity.

Straits Times cartoonist Lee, 48, who designed the ST Ride T-shirt, said: "I like how some drivers accessorise their vehicles.

"So I came up with this crazy concept of how a bicycle can look like after being 'zhng-ed'.

"I love things that are witty and humorous, and I hope to bring out the same through my drawing for this T-shirt."

Ignatius Low, ST's managing editor, said: "I suggested that Chee Chew design the shirt since he is also well-known as the cartoonist of the comic strip titled Chew On It.

"He has provided a uniquely Singaporean take in his designs and it is very appropriate for the event."

The other categories that will also see the participants receiving the Pearl Izumi T-shirts are the 42km The Sportive Ride and the Mighty Savers Ride.
