Porsche Carrera Cup: Singapore's Yuey Tan finish third in Class B race in Spa

SPA, BELGIUM - Singaporean driver Yuey Tan has finished third in the Class B Porsche Carrera Cup 24 Hours of Spa.

The 33-year-old had also earned the distinction as the first Singaporean to race at the iconic Belgian track of Spa-Francorchamps.

Tan said: "It was a hard day as it was raining but we did a good race. Things went really well and we got good results in Spa-Francochamps. My current team (Team Jebsen) were very happy with the results and I hope they renew my contract for the next season.

"It's been a fantastic experience here in Spa-Francorchamps. I feel very privileged coming from Asia to come up here and race with the Europeans. It was a very good learning experience and I hope many more of us from Asia can come up here and have the same sort of racing experience that I had.

"Now I look forward to the next season in Carrera Cup Asia and I hope that I still have many more opportunities to race in Europe and fly the Singapore flag high."

Tan had earned his spot for the one-off event in Belgium because he currently leads the Class B category of the 2015 Porsche Carrera Cup Asia series.
