Tickets for the LionsXII's Malaysia Cup home group matches - against Kedah (Saturday), Terengganu (Sept 26) and Johor Darul Takzim II (Oct 17) - are on sale.

Tickets range from $5-$14, and can be bought online at www.globaltickets.sg and at AXS machines island-wide until 4pm on match days.


Architect to revisit Tokyo stadium design

TOKYO • Architect Zaha Hadid will take another crack at designing Tokyo's 2020 Olympics stadium, after an initial proposal was scrapped due to its eye-watering US$2 billion (S$2.85 billion) cost.

SYDNEY • The blazer worn by Australian cricketing great Donald Bradman during his first series as Test captain has sold for A$132,000 (S$130,671).

The green jacket with gold piping and the Australia crest on the breast pocket was worn by the late batsman when he led the Australians against the English tourists during the 1936-37 Ashes series, which the home side won 3-2. REUTERS


Berahino will play for West Brom, says Pulis

LONDON • Disgruntled forward Saido Berahino will play for West Bromwich Albion again, even if his integration into the English Premier League football club's squad will not be easy following his transfer saga, manager Tony Pulis said.

Table tennis could get extra event at Tokyo

TOKYO • Table tennis chiefs were encouraged by what they described as a "positive" response to their pitch for an extra gold medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

The International Table Tennis Federation president Thomas Weikert met Tokyo organising committee chief Yoshiro Mori in Japan and outlined his proposal to add mixed doubles to the existing four medal events, men's and women's singles and the team tournaments. REUTERS•
