Football: Everton restore Umbro partnership

LONDON (AFP) - English Premier League club Everton on Tuesday announced a new five-year kit manufacturing deal with British sportswear firm Umbro.

It will be Everton's fourth contract with Umbro, which first began making kits for the Merseyside club in 1974.

Umbro will take over from Everton's current kit manufacturers, American sportswear giant Nike, on June 1.

"The club is delighted to be entering into this new and exciting partnership and looks forward to working alongside the Umbro team over the next five years," said Everton chief executive Robert Elstone.

"Of course, we're starting from a good place. Based on many years of working together, Umbro enjoys a great affinity with Evertonians."
