Football: Brazil's Corinthians claim Canon Lion City Cup after penalty shoot-out

The Under-15s from Corinthians lifted the 25th Lion City Cup, sponsored by Canon, on Sunday evening after defeating their counterparts from PSV Eindhoven 5-3 on penalties at the Jalan Besar Stadium.

The match had ended 1-1 after 80 minutes.

Captain Leo Jaba put the Brazilians ahead in the 43rd minute, only for Dante Rigo to level matters two minutes from the end.

But Leo had the last laugh, firing home a retaken penalty after Robin Schoonbrood saw his spot-kick saved.

Eintracht Frankfurt's U-15s took third place in the tournament with a 3-2 win over the U-15s of Arsenal.

Meanwhile, Singapore's National Football Academy U-16s won the play-off for fifth place by defeating their U-15 compatriots 4-1.
