Subscribers of The Straits Times' "All-In-One Package" can sign up for The Straits Times Ride, a 23-km event at the Aug 29-30 OCBC Cycle, from Wednesday till Friday.

A total of 400 slots are up for grabs, on a first-come-first-served basis. Registration fees will also cost less under this priority booking scheme.

An e-mail, containing a personalised promo code and a link to the registration website, will be sent to all the eligible subscribers. Simply click on the link and enter the promo code to sign up.

The initiative is part of The Straits Times Appreciates Readers programme, aimed at connecting more closely with readers and the community.

Spots in the OCBC Cycle's pre-event activities, such as talks and workshops, will also be reserved for ST readers.

For example, a third of the 30 places in the cafe bike crawls and 27 slots in the Volvo route familiarisation drives will be set aside for ST readers.

At the injury management talks held by the National University Hospital sports centre, 20 per cent of the 500 spaces will also be set aside for ST readers.

Public registration will begin on March 9 at the OCBC Centre.

Participants who show up in person then will get discounts on registration fees and a chance to win prizes such as shopping vouchers and watches.

Online registration for the public starts on March 10.
