The Football Association of Singapore (FAS) and the S-League are raising funds for former FAS chairman N. Ganesan.

The 80-year-old suffered a stroke in 2011 and has been confined to a nursing home in Bukit Timah since. A group of his friends, who call themselves "Friends of Ganesan", are raising money for his nursing home bills. A futsal tournament was organised last month and a golf day will be held tomorrow (April 19).

The FAS and S-League said they have partnered with the "Friends of Ganesan" group in its fund-raising campaign.

A portion of the gate receipts for Saturday's Malaysian Super League game between the LionsXII and ATM will be donated to a trust fund, set up and administered by the "Friends of Ganesan" group.
