Singapore Fashion Week (SFW) starts on May 13, but you can get into the mood early at the Tangs x Singapore Fashion Week pop-up store which is now open at Tangs Orchard.

Local brands Elohim by Sabrina Goh, Ong Shunmugam and Collate the Label, which are staging fashion shows at SFW, will be stocked at the pop-up store.

Although local fashion brands Aijek, Cruise, In Good Company, Reckless Jersey and Womb, are not showcasing their designs on the runway, they have designed SFW capsule collections that are also available at the pop-up store.

In addition to some of the top names in local design, a curated selection of international labels, such as streetwear brand Studmuffin NYC and British jewellery label Monica Vinader, will be part of the mix.

The pop-up will be open till May 20.

Blueprint, the fashion trade show which occurs alongside Singapore Fashion Week, is back for its sixth edition in May. Specialising in launching pre-spring or cruise collections, it features Asian brands, as well as international brands looking to enter Asian markets.

This year's Blueprint will group the ready-to-wear and accessory brands into seven trending categories - feminine chic, modern minimalist, classic, avant garde, bespoke tailored, sports and urban streetwear.

The trade show, which runs from May 14 to 15, will be followed by the consumer event Blueprint Emporium from May 16 to 17. It is free and open to the public. Members of the public can shop for samples, limited-edition items and off-season collections from the exhibiting brands, some of which are not yet available here.

Russian style star Miroslava Duma, founder of fashion news site Buro24/7, will make an appearance at Blueprint Emporium on May 17. Both the trade show and Blueprint Emporium will be held at the Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre Halls 401 and 402.

Singapore Fashion Week announced its return in May with a new format focusing more on trade. The objective, says SFW chairman Tjin Lee, is to "internationalise Singapore and regional designers".

To that end there will be mentorship programmes. And star attraction Diane von Furstenburg, in addition to showing her collection, will also speak to fashion students and industry professionals.
