Blueprint fashion tradeshow: Urban's picks on what to buy

The annual shopping component of the Blueprint fashion tradeshow is on this weekend.

It is where the public can pick up samples, limited-edition merchandise and off-season collections from exhibiting labels, many of which do not have a presence in Singapore.

This year, Blueprint has grouped ready-to-wear and accessory brands into seven categories - feminine chic, modern minimalist, classic, avant garde, bespoke tailored, sports and urban streetwear.

The event, which occurs annually alongside Singapore Fashion Week, specialises in launching pre-spring or cruise collections. It features Asian as well as international brands looking to enter Asian markets.

In another related event at 2pm on Sunday, you can get your creative juices flowing at a workshop conducted by the designers of streetwear brand Mash Up.

Participants will learn how to add embroidery and embellishments on T-shirts. Those interested should e-mail info@mashupcollective.com by today.

Blueprint Emporium will be held at the Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre Halls 401 and 402. Opening hours are 11am to 8pm tomorrow and 11am to 6pm on Sunday.

Here are some brands to look out for:

NiiN is eclecticism at its best. The Taiwanese label has an offbeat vibe that comes from the mish-mash of prints and fabrics.
