Andre has been a journalist since 1996, and specialises in crisis reporting and human interest stories. He was a crime correspondent for The New Paper, before becoming its news editor. He covered the 2000 coup in Fiji and met hostage-takers there. Andre joined The Straits Times in 2021 and supervises the crime and courts team. He started ST’s Stop Scams campaign in 2022, which publishes stories on scam trends to educate the public about the scourge.
