SINGAPORE - While the pool is where Olympic champion Joseph Schooling made a splash, the void deck of his Housing Board block used to be his playground where his mother May played many sports, including badminton, tennis and football, with him.
"I used to tie a string there for us to play badminton, we would use the wall for tennis or kick a ball around. We did everything," said May Schooling, who represented the Perak state team in netball, tennis and athletics (throwing).
