Samba Boys still special after 50 years

Everything was black and white in football and then suddenly one summer the world was in yellow. It is the primary colour that people remember from the first World Cup televised in colour. Yellow is the colour of sun and nothing warmed people like Brazil in 1970.

Carlos Alberto is gone; Tostao is 73; Gerson the chain smoker is 79; Rivelino surely still has that moustache (he said he only shaved it once when he got the trimming wrong); and Pele, who invented hang time before Michael Jordan even understood it, is seven months from 80. And yet, for entire generations, they will always be ageless and immortal, the prettiest team of the beautiful game.
