SINGAPORE - When people think of indoor rock climbing, images of intimidating, towering grey walls often come to mind. But a new facility here plans to change all that.
Instead of dull coloured walls with the usual grips for hands and feet, Clip 'n Climb at HomeTeamNS Tampines has technicolour walls with "ice picks" and "spaghetti ropes" for grips.
Clip 'n Climb brands itself as a rock climbing theme park for climbers of all ages. The first such facility opened in Christchurch, New Zealand, in 2006.
HomeTeamNS is the first to bring this concept to Singapore.
Climbers here have 19 routes with various difficult levels to choose from.
Since its soft launch on Nov 9, more than 4,000 climbers have scaled the walls at Clip 'n Climb HomeTeamNS Tampines.
A 90-minute session costs $25 for members of the public, both adults and children.
