SINGAPORE - A war relic was found near East Coast Road on Tuesday (Oct 3), the second to be found in eight days. The other was found on Sept 26, at a construction site in Jurong Island.

The Singapore Army wrote in a Facebook post on Monday night that the Singapore Armed Forces' Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team assessed the relic on Jurong Island to be a 70mm high explosive projectile from the World War II era. The relic was disposed on-site by the EOD team on Sept 28.

On Tuesday, at close to noon, police were alerted to the other war relic, in 103 Lorong N Telok Kurau, near the TreeScape condominium.

Netizens said that at about 3pm, the affected area had been cordoned off and closed to the public.

The Straits Times has contacted the police and Singapore Armed Forces for more information on what the war relic is and if it has been removed.
