SINGAPORE - Two people were taken to the hospital after a lorry caught fire in Sembawang on the morning of Aug 31.
Responding to queries from The Straits Times, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was alerted to a fire in Admiralty Road West at about 11am.
The fire involved the back compartment of a lorry, SCDF said.
SCDF officers extinguished the blaze using two compressed air foam backpacks and a water jet.
Two people were taken to Singapore General Hospital for smoke inhalation, SCDF added.
A video posted on TikTok on Aug 31 shows black smoke billowing from the back of a lorry. Ashes and embers can also be seen on a grass patch next to the vehicle, while a gas cylinder is seen some distance away.
The video also shows SCDF firefighters at the scene.
SCDF is investigating the cause of the fire.
