SINGAPORE - Visitors walked along train tracks along the Downtown Line 3 (DTL3) as part of an evacuation exercise on Saturday (Sept 16).

The train-to-track detrainment was part of a community engagement session ahead of the line's opening in October.

They disembarked from a train that stopped in the tunnel between the upcoming Geylang Bahru Station and Mattar Station and walked along the tunnel shaft.

DTL3, which will have 16 stations from Fort Canning to Singapore Expo, will open to passengers on Oct 21.

SBS Transit has organised a series of community engagement sessions allowing visitors a sneak peek of some unopened stations.

Once it is open, the DTL will be fully operational and will be Singapore's longest underground MRT line, spanning 42km.

The Land Transport Authority is also running contests ahead of the DTL's Open House on Oct 15, including a photo contest.

Separately, 10 participants won $50 shopping vouchers each for sharing stories about unique attractions near the new DTL stations.
