SINGAPORE - Train service on the East-West Line between Pasir Ris and Tampines MRT stations was halted for nearly 20 minutes on Wednesday (Oct 28) afternoon due to a track fault.

In a tweet at 2.54pm, rail operator SMRT said service in either direction would be unavailable for 20 minutes. Free bus services were activated.

SMRT said in an update at 3.10pm that train service had resumed, with trains travelling at a slower speed.

It warned commuters to expect an additional 10 minutes of travelling time between the two stations.
