SINGAPORE - Star Wars fever is well and truly upon us - SMRT commuters will get the chance to ride on special-themed trains in the coming weeks.

As part of a tie-up between the rail operator and Disney and Lucasfilm, these trains will go into service from mid-December.

The much-anticipated seventh instalment of the series, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, opens in local cinemas on Dec 17.
