SINGAPORE - Bright red or lime green?
Commuters will get to vote what colour the new buses used under the Government contracting model will be.
The chosen colour will make their debut on buses that will be used by Anglo-Australian Tower Transit, which will start operations in the western part of the island from the second quarter of this year (2016).
British firm Go-Ahead, which starts running bus services in the Pasir Ris and Punggol areas from the third quarter, will also use same colour scheme.
"With the transition to bus contracting model, the Government will gradually own all public buses. A common livery will create a unified and distinctive identity for our Singapore bus," the Land Transport Authority (LTA) said on Friday.
All public buses will also bear a logo with the words "SG Bus" and the slogan "Moving Ahead Together".
Voting for the new bus livery starts on Friday and will end on Feb 5.
The public can cast their votes through the website http://colouryourbuses.sg, or at selected MRT stations and bus interchanges.
The results will be announced in the first quarter of this year.
To help commuters visualize the new colour schemes, 10 bright red and 10 lush green buses will be deployed on the roads during the voting phase.
Fifty participants who take part in the poll will also each win a $50 shopping voucher in a lucky draw.
