* A traction power fault disrupted train service between Yishun and Bishan along the North-South Line during the rush hour this morning.

* Of the almost 39,300 pupils who sat the PSLE this year, 66.2 per cent qualified for the express stream, 21.7 per cent are eligible for the Normal (Academic) stream, and 10.4 per cent, the Normal (Technical) stream.

* The Court of Appeal has freed businessman Dan Tan Seet Eng from detention. The 51-year-old, who had been imprisoned for more than two year, was named by Interpol as "the leader of the world's most notorious match-fixing syndicate".
