$20,000 grant for resale flats near families; overall crime rate in Singapore up 6.7 per cent in the first half of 2015; fall in cases related to GBS bacteria infections.

*From today, all Singaporean families buying a Housing Board resale flat near or with their parents or married children will get a grant of $20,000, regardless of their income and whether they have received housing subsidies before.

*The overall crime rate in Singapore has risen by 6.7 per cent to 16,575 cases for the first half of the year compared to the same period last year.

*The number of cases related to the Group B Streptococcus bacteria has fallen after licensed shops and foodstalls were advised by the National Environment Agency to stop selling raw fish dishes using the Asian Bighead Carp and the Toman Snakehead fish.
