SINGAPORE - Those watching the National Day Parade (NDP) at the Sports Hub might also get to engage in a couple of Pokemon battles, as the 55,000-seater stadium is a designated Pokemon gym.

Gyms are big landmarks where Pokemon players who are level five or above can use their creatures to battle other players.

Twitter user @Mister_Young wrote: "So the national stadium is a #PokemonGo gym.. How many "battles" are going to be taking place here tonight #NDP2016."

The NDP's organisers, meanwhile, have warned players of events that encourage players to hunt for Pokemon around the vicinity of the Sports Hub in Kallang.

"Do note that neither NDPeeps nor the NDP 16 Exco have endorsed any events to promote Pokemon-hunting in the vicinity of the Sports Hub on Aug 9, 2016," they wrote in a Facebook post.

They added that large crowds are expected at the stadium, and that strict access controls will be in place to ensure the safety and security of ticketed spectators.
