As I walked towards the three-storey shophouse with its yellow painted doors and windows in Kreta Ayer Road one Sunday morning, I could hear children's laughter inside even when I was several doors away.
I stepped into a long fluorescent-lit hallway, with its walls lined with photographs of troupe members and past performances.
