Reunited after 50 years: PM Lee's former driver shares memories

SINGAPORE - Two weeks ago, Mr Goh Khoon Seng, 80, was at Redhill food centre when he spotted a familiar face.

It was the boy he used to drive to school every morning, when he was working as a driver more than 50 years ago.

That boy was Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.

After five decades, Mr Goh reunited with PM Lee, who posted a picture of the encounter on his Facebook page.

Mr Goh worked as a driver for the Lees for three years back in the 1960s.

He said, "he was a skinny boy, he used to run around. The children were very disciplined, when they had tuition they were not allowed to go out and play. The tutor would come to the house every afternoon to teach them. Who knew that 50 years later, that little boy would become Prime Minister."
