Motorcyclist seriously injured after being hit by car on PIE, then dragged by another car

SINGAPORE - A motorcyclist was injured after a car pushed his bike into the path of another car on the Pan-Island Expressway (PIE) on Wednesday (May 24).

The accident on the PIE towards Changi Airport happened at about 7pm, police said.

A video of the incident shows a black car side-swiping the motorcycle as it switches lanes. The motorcycle is pushed into the rightmost lane, and a white car runs over the vehicle and rider.

Sparks are emitted from the wheels of the car and the motorcyclist is dragged some distance down the highway.

The 46-year-old motorcyclist was taken to National University Hospital. The Straits Times understands that he was seriously injured and was admitted to the intensive care unit.

Police investigations are ongoing.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force sent one Red Rhino and an ambulance to the scene.
