Former Navy chief Ng Chee Peng appointed new CEO of CPF board

SINGAPORE - Mr Ng Chee Peng has been appointed the new chief executive of the Central Provident Fund (CPF) Board.

Currently Deputy Secretary (Special Projects) at the Ministry of Manpower (MOM), Mr Ng will succeed Mr Yee Ping Yi on March 15, MOM said.

Mr Ng, 45, was the Chief of Navy prior to joining MOM last year. He joined the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) in 1988 and was awarded the President's Scholarship and SAF Overseas Scholarship in 1989.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours First Class) in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Oxford, and a Master of Public Administration from Harvard University.Mr Yee will return to the civil service where he will assume another leadership position.
