Fire breaks out at Yishun Street 22; no injuries reported

SINGAPORE- A fire broke out in the kitchen of a unit in Block 266, Yishun Street 22 on Monday (Aug 15).

The fire involved contents of a kitchen on the second floor unit.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) spokesman said that they were alerted to the fire at 9.20am.

SCDF dispatched two fire engines, one red rhino, two fire bikes, and an ambulance to the scene. Seven residents from the second floor had evacuated prior to SCDF's arrival and no injuries were reported.

The fire was extinguished within minutes. Investigations are still ongoing as to what caused the fire.
