SINGAPORE - As at 5pm on Sunday (Sept 11), the 24-hour PSI reading was in the moderate range, between 51 and 55. The National Environment Agency (NEA) said that the PSI is expected to stay in this range over the next 24 hours, with thundery showers possibly in the late morning and early afternoon on Monday.

The 1-hour PM2.5 concentration was in the normal band on Sunday.

Sumatra had 28 hot spots on Sunday, but no visible smoke plumes or haze was observed in the vicinity of the hot spots.

For the next few days, the prevailing winds are forecast to blow from the south or southwest. Relatively dry weather conditions are expected for southern Sumatra.

NEA added that hazy conditions are possible over the next few days, if the dry conditions are coupled with unfavourable winds and an increase in hot spot activities.
