Egypt's president in 1st State Visit to Singapore since diplomatic relations began in 1966

SINGAPORE - Egypt's president Abdel Fattah Al Sisi will make a State Visit to Singapore from Aug 30 to Sept 1 at the invitation of President Tony Tan Keng Yam. This will be the first such visit by an Egyptian president to Singapore since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1966.

He will be officially welcomed at the Istana, before meeting President Tan, and then Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, said the Foreign Ministry on Saturday. President Al Sisi will also attend an event with business leaders jointly organised by the Ministry of Trade & Industry, International Enterprise Singapore and the Singapore Business Federation.

President Tan will also host a State Banquet in honour of him.

President Al Sisi will be accompanied by Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry, Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Hossam Eldin Moghazy and Minister of Investment Ashraf Salman.
