Man arrested on suspicion of molesting woman along MacKenzie Road

SINGAPORE - A 25-year-old man who allegedly molested a 27-year-old woman along Mackenzie Road was arrested on Sunday.

The victim was walking along Mackenzie Road early Sunday morning when she was molested by the man. The victim immediately shouted for help and two passers-by gave chase and detained the man. Police officers arrived at the scene shortly after and arrested him.

Under the Penal Code, a person convicted for outrage of modesty can be punished with a jail term of up to 10 years and with caning.

Investigations are ongoing.
