Early-morning car chase sends two to hospital after driver speeds off at Henderson Road police roadblock

SINGAPORE - Two people were sent to hospital and four vehicles smashed up, in an early-morning car chase that ended by a coffeeshop in Geylang on Sunday (Sept 11).

The chase was sparked by a driver speeding off at a roadblock along Henderson Road, the police said in response to media queries.

The 22-year-old man hit a motorcycle and a van at Geylang Lorong 16 and a taxi at Geylang Lorong 11, before coming to a stop along Geylang Lorong 25.

He attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended and arrested for evasion of a roadblock, as well as other traffic- and drug-related offences.

He and the van's passenger were both injured and sent to Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

Police investigations are ongoing.
