SINGAPORE - An accountant who took upskirt videos of his colleague and other women, including a friend, was jailed for 14 weeks on Tuesday for insulting their modesty.

Willy Yeo, 31, had admitted to five of 24 charges, most of which were committed on public transport.

Yeo, who is receiving treatment for his voyeuristic disorder, bought a black video recording device resembling a car remote control on eBay in 2012.

On June 26, 2013, when his colleague was away from her desk during lunch time, he taped the recording device underneath her desk and set it in recording mode.

When the victim returned to her desk, the recording device dropped off. She picked it up and noticed that there was a micro SD card in it.

Watching it, she realised the video had captured Yeo fixing the device to the desk, as well as beneath her skirt.

She reported the matter to her boss and called the police.

The court heard that earlier in April that year, Yeo had recorded an upskirt video of the victim using his mobile phone.

A month later, he took an upskirt video of a 28-year-old friend when they were at a park near Nicoll Highway.

Investigations showed he had been recording upskirt videos since January 2013.

He would take a bus to Pioneer MRT station or walk around shopping malls to look for potential victims. He would target women wearing short dresses or skirts, and would take videos when they were on escalators.

Further investigations also showed that he would save a copy of all the upskirt videos that he had recorded on his laptop.

He would note down the location, date and description of the victim's dress or skirt, so that he could remember them when he rewatched the video.
