SINGAPORE - A 28-year-old woman was found dead in her Circuit Road flat on Tuesday (March 22). The police have classified the case as an unnatural death.

A police spokesman said they received a call at about 8.30pm on Tuesday, and found the woman lying motionless in her third-floor flat. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

No arrests have been made, and investigations are ongoing.

Chinese evening daily Lianhe Wanbao reported that the woman was found lying on a bed and covered with a blanket.

The unit's tenant, a man, had allegedly told his landlord that he was going to Malaysia on a business trip several days ago. When the landlord went to check on the flat on Tuesday night, he found the body and called the police.

When The Straits Times visited the area Wednesday morning, the rental unit in which the dead woman was found was locked and its windows were closed.

Neighbours said police officers had come knocking on their doors the night that the death was reported by the landlord. They said they did not hear any commotion.

They also told The Straits Times that the tenant had moved in last year.

"I saw her sometimes but I didn't know her well," said a woman living a few doors away and who declined to be named. "We keep to ourselves here."

Another neighbour, who wanted to be known only as Madam Neo, said: "I remember when she moved in because there was a lot of renovation around that time, but she didn't really interact with us and I didn't see her much."

The relationship of the woman to the tenant could not be confirmed.
