COE prices fall across board with bigger quota; COEs for Cat B less than for trucks

Certificate of Entitlement (COE) prices closed lower in the third round of bidding in 2016, on Wednesday (Feb 3).

SINGAPORE - COE for cars up to 1,600cc and 130bhp closed at $46,651 in the latest tender on Wednesday (Feb 3), down from $51,301 two weeks ago.
COE for cars above 1,600cc or 130bhp finished at a six-year low of $38,610, down from $50,089 last fortnight.
Open COE, which can be used for any vehicle type but ends up almost exclusively for bigger cars, tumbled by nearly as much to end at $44,001, down from $51,000 previously.
Commercial vehicle COE dipped from $46,502 to end at $45,036 - making this COE for vans and trucks significantly costlier than the certificate for Mercedes-Benz S-class and BMW 7-series limousines.
Motorcycle premium slid from $6,512 to $6,503.
