SINGAPORE - A car went up in flames after its engine compartment caught fire in the Serangoon North area on Sunday (Nov 29) evening.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was alerted to the incident at Block 102, Serangoon North Ave 1 at 5.23pm.
It dispatched a fire engine and a red rhino to the scene, and the fire was put out using a water jet, a hose reel and two compressed air foam backpacks.
A video sent to The Straits Times by Facebook user Hare Krishna showed SCDF personnel gathered around the still smoking vehicle after the fire was extinguished.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, said a SCDF spokesman.
