50-year-old woman sent to hospital after car and lorry collision in Yishun

SINGAPORE - A 50-year-old woman was sent to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital after an accident involving a car and a lorry on Thursday (Feb 4) morning, according to the police.

According to the Singapore Civil Defence Force, it was alerted to the incident around 11.15am and an ambulance was sent to the scene.

The accident took place at the junction of Yishun Avenue 3 and Yishun Ring Road, said the police. The woman, who was the lorry driver, was conveyed conscious to the hospital.

The Straits Times understands that the accident vehicles occupied both lanes of the two-lane road and that a stretch of Yishun Avenue 3 after the Yishun Ring Road junction was closed off.

There was engine oil spillage on the road due to the accident.

The road was closed for about an hour after the accident, and traffic was diverted out to Yishun Ring Road.

Police investigations are ongoing.
