The People's Action Party's Murali Pillai will face off against Singapore Democratic Party chief Dr Chee Soon Juan in the Bukit Batok by-election. As the campaigning gets underway, we ask residents what they want for their estate.

SINGAPORE - For the second time in less than a year, Bukit Batok residents will be electing a new Member of Parliament.
The People's Action Party has fielded lawyer Murali Pillai against Singapore Democratic Party chief Dr Chee Soon Juan.
Mr Murali is a veteran grassroots activist with strong links to the community, while Dr Chee is a well-known figure in Singapore politics.
Both candidates have proposed plans to help the elderly, unemployed and low-income families.
The Straits Times talks to some voters to find out what they want for their constituency.
