French restaurant Les Amis to close for month-long renovation

French fine-dining restaurant Les Amis in Shaw Centre will close for a month starting March 15, for renovations.

The 21-year-old restaurant will undergo its first major kitchen overhaul.

Les Amis Group spokesman Raymond Lim, 36, says the kitchen will have a new stove-top island, designed by the restaurant's chef de cuisine, Sebastien Lepinoy.

The restaurant's interiors will remain intact for the most part, although the wallpaper, carpet and furniture will be replaced. Its current seating capacity of 70 will also be expanded with the addition of private rooms.

Its last renovation, which cost $2.5 million, was in 2007.

Les Amis re-opens on April 16.
