SINGAPORE - Iconic home-grown club Zouk will co-host the beach stage for the first time at the renowned Summer Sonic 2016 in Tokyo on August 20.

The line-up includes hit-making American DJ duo The Chainsmokers, Italian brothers Vinai, upcoming Dutch DJ-producer Sam Feldt, Japanese DJ Yamato and Zouk resident Zushan.

The ZoukOut stage at Summer Sonic is the club's latest push to go global.

Mr Andrew Li, Genting Hong Kong's vice-president of lifestyle and food and beverage concepts, says they are "incredibly excited about the growth of Zouk's brand".

Japan was chosen as it "has always been and continues to be a strong market for music, arts and lifestyle festivals".

Mr Li also revealed that other "strategic locations in Japan have been identified for standalone ZoukOut events in future".

Summer Sonic is an annual two-day festival held simultaneously in Osaka and Tokyo, Japan. This year the festival will be on Aug 20 and 21, with the Tokyo leg held at the QVC Marine Field and Makuhari Messe.

This year's headline acts include British experimental rockers Radiohead and dance music stalwarts Underworld.

The 16-year-old event is one of the biggest and most prestigious music festivals in the world.
